Inspection and Certification
In addition to Health and Safety Training, and Working at Height Training, Clive Kelly Safety LTD offers inspection and certification of Safety Harnesses and Lanyards to companies in Ireland (see GA1 Lifting Equipment Inspection). Based in Clare, Clive Kelly Safety offers this inspection and certification service to companies in Clare, Galway, Tipperary, Limerick and the surrounding areas.
The Regulations
Employers are required as far as is reasonably practicable, to ensure the safety, health and welfare at work of his or her employees (Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005). This includes routinely testing and certification of all safety equipment, including fall protection systems (lanyards, harnesses etc.) by a suitably qualified person.
The frequency of formal inspection depends on the type and complexity of the system but as a general rule, inspections should be carried out at least every 6 months.
There are a number of obvious reasons for inspection and certification of fall protection systems like prevention of injury, but routine inspection and maintenance of equipment is also important for employee morale, and for prolonged life of the equipment.
Relates to
Fall arrest equipment: safety harnesses and fall restraint lanyards (cable, wire, rope and web lanyards).
